With breakaway windows, you can pick out parts of the app and place them directly on your desktop. This allows you to keep track of important things even when the main app is not in focus, or even closed.
The feature is enabled by default and requires no configuration.
What are break-out windows?
Breakaway windows allow you to break out different elements from the app and display them as separate windows on your computer.
For example, you can:
- Have the Dailern lying on the desk
- View queued calls or ongoing calls in a response group
- Follow voicemails or missed calls
- Work with cases directly on your desktop if you have Contact Center enabled
This way you can build your own personal dashboard that is always visible when you need it.
How to break a window
- Open the element you want to extract, for example Dialer
- Look for the arrow icon ↗️ at the top right of the view
- Click on the arrow
- The element will now open as a separate window on your desktop.
If you see the icon for breaking out a window, it means that particular view can be broken out.
Features of a broken window
When a window is broken out, three new icons appear:
Open the main app
The icon with two arrows ⏫ upwards reopens the app and moves the focus to the main window.
Move back to the main window
The downward-facing arrow ↙️ closes the pop-up window and moves the content back into the app.
Always on top
The pin icon 📌 keeps the window always on top of the desktop, even if you:
- Opens other programs
- Switching between windows
- Closes the main app within the app
Perfect when you want to have a constant overview.
Examples of what you can break out
In a response group, you can, for example, break out:
- Response groups
- Calls in queue
- All ongoing calls
- Voice messages
- Missed calls
If you have Contact Center activated, you can also break out:
- Cases
- To-do lists and views
You can have multiple breakout windows open at the same time.
Build your own dashboard
By combining multiple split windows, you can create a personalized dashboard on your computer.
Example:
- See how many calls are in queue
- Follow active calls in real time
- Keep track of cases in Contact Center without having the app open
This gives you full control and a better overview in your everyday life.
